Boomerang Bags

What are Boomerang Bags?

Remember that feeling when you get to the checkout and realise you’ve forgotten your re-usable bag!  Welcome to Boomerang Bags!

Boomerang Bags is an Australian initiative aimed at reducing the use of plastic bags by giving away cloth bags to shoppers.  The bags are usually put in a box in the supermarket or shop and shoppers are encouraged to borrow and bring back the bag.  There are a lot of Boomerang Bag ‘groups’ working away across Australia to make bags for their community.

In Bass Coast there are Boomerang Bag groups sewing in Wonthaggi, Inverloch and on Philip Island (if you have a group going somewhere else in Bass Coast let us know and we will update our website!).
